Sub Rosa is a dream and dreams scare people. Unlicensed underground restaurants; illicit cocktail bars and late night dance venues are frowned upon to say the least. So yes, we ask you to kept a lid on it. We know it's hard to keep a secret, but consider this something special between us.

A short story about our name - Sub Rosa comes from the Latin, literally "under the rose," from the ancient association of the rose with confidentiality, in reference to the use of a rose at secret meetings as a symbol of the sworn confidence of the participants.  

As you might expect, this is an invitation only gig. If you know us or know someone who knows us - you're in. Otherwise you just get to read about us on a web site. You can download recipes and music and order a t-shirt but that's about it.

The soul of Sub Rosa resides in the old stucco caretakers residence on the property. At some point, this will turn into a real functioning summer kitchen, but for now it is merely a storage warehouse for wine to be distilled.
