The phrase sub-rosa comes from the Latin, literally "under the rose," from the association of the rose with confidentiality. The use of a rose over the door at secret meetings was a symbol of the sworn confidence of the participants.

Anyone who is familiar with secret societies such as the Illuminati, Freemasons, Priory of Scion or Knights Templar will be familiar with the concept of 'sub rosa'. We invite you to join the cadre.

Sub Rosa began in a cottage on our property that was once the caretakers quarters for a 90 acre orchard here in Dundee. Today Sub Rosa has spun off a distillery with culinary inspired savory vodkas and other hand-crafted small-batch distilled elixirs. The 'restaurant' remains a popular stop in cyberspace.
